It was an awesome journey to Kulim, Kedah this morning to attend Leo Club of Chio Min High School's Leo Garden Opening Ceremony and Farewell Party. Our club had sent 3 representatives namely IPP Stanley Saw, PP Kok Sheng and Leo Minz Tiow to give our support to the organizing club. The trip was not merely attending Chio Min's Leo Garden Opening Ceremony but we were glad to be invited to visit Lions Club of Kulim's Initiative- Lions Reading Room too. Few days before, we were informed that they will bring us to visit Lions Reading Room and requested us to collect old English Story books for the centre. However, due to time limitation the members were not able to collect those required books from friends before the visit.
Since we are not able to collect it on time, our President Vincent Khor and his key board of directors had agreed to make a donation of RM 100 to Lions Reading Room in support of thier operating fund. The centre was established in year 1998 by Lion Patricia (in picture) from Lions Club of Kulim with the purpose of providing FREE tuition to the children that come from poor family/urban area and orphanage home. As at today, the centre has 40 students from Standard 1 to Form 3 and 6 Volunteer teachers to help in running the centre. Although the amount of donation is not big but we strongly believe that the donation will be able to make a difference no matter it is big or small! Thanks for the invitation by Leo Club of Chio Min and Lions Club of Kulim! ROOOAR
